Closure Notice

Dear Valued Clients,

We are writing to let you know that Southern Alberta Veterinary Emergency (SAVE) will be permanently closing on August 30, 2026. This was a very difficult decision, made after carefully reviewing the hospital's long-term operational needs and our ability to continue providing sustainable emergency care. We understand this news may be upsetting for our clients and the community, and we are committed to supporting you and your pets throughout this transition.

Our priority is ensuring you continue to have access to veterinary care. As of August 31, 2026, clients can seek alternative care at Fish Creek Pet Hospital. At Fish Creek Pet Hospital, you'll be welcomed by a caring and experienced team, including familiar faces from SAVE, ready to support you and your pets during this transition and beyond.

What You Need to Know

Medical Records
Your pet's medical records will be securely transferred to Fish Creek Pet Hospital. If you would like to transfer your pet's records to another veterinary practice, please contact our team at 403-995-3270 before August 30, 2026, or the Fish Creek team after August 30, 2026.

As we work through this transition, our teams may experience a higher volume of calls and record transfer requests than usual. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we assist every client as promptly as possible.

Pick-ups (Medications, Food Orders, and more)
Prescription refills and food orders can be placed through SAVE until August 17, 2026. After that date, please contact Fish Creek Pet Hospital directly for all future prescription refills and food orders.

Laboratory results and memorial items that do not arrive before August 30 will be forwarded to our sister clinic, Elizabeth Street Pet Hospital.

Veterinary Appointments
To support continuity of care, appointments may continue to be scheduled at SAVE until August 30, 2026. You are also welcome to contact Fish Creek Pet Hospital to book your pet's next appointment.

Surgical Referrals
We are no longer accepting non-urgent surgical referrals. Those cases will be referred to Fish Creek or the patient's regular veterinarian.

Advanced Diagnostics
Referrals for CT scans, ultrasounds, and endoscopy will continue to be accepted.

We appreciate your patience as we respond to each inquiry.

It has been a privilege to care for your pets and be part of their lives. We are truly grateful for your trust and support over the years, and we are confident that this transition will allow us to continue providing the compassionate, high-quality care you expect.
